Assessment
Each child referred to our service will be seen for an initial assessment/consultation. At this appointment, parent/carer(s) discuss their concerns and what their goals are for their child. The therapist will assess the child using range of assessment tools and observations in the session.
Group Programs
Groups are run both at the clinic and in schools as needed. This includes groups focusing on school readiness, fine motor/handwriting, social skills and self regulation.
Therapy (Individual)
Most children are seen in our clinics at Caringbah and Carss Park, but also in their homes, preschools and schools. Following the initial assessment, the frequency of sessions is discussed and agreed upon with parent/carers. Using a family-centred approach, a parent/carer(s) is present for all appointments (except at preschools/schools). Working in collaboration with the child's educators is seen as a priority to ensure consistency of support.
Therapy In Schools & Early Childhood Centres
Our therapists work in many schools, across a 3 sectors (Department of Education, Catholic and Independent schools). As well as providing assessment and therapy to identified children within the school, the other key goal is to facilitate capacity building for educators within each school. This ensures that educators can continue to use therapy strategies even when the therapist is not present.
We work in a range of Early Childhood settings, offering screenings, therapy and consultation/training to educators on supporting children with additional needs.
